Step-by-step construction method:
3. Assembling the barrels with fittings, faucets, and hoses was the next step. The diagram below shows a typical barrel with its connections to the downspout and fittings for hoses. Details of each connection can be found on the next page.
Typical elements for rainwater harvesting: (1) rain barrel; (2) overflow hose; (3) T-fitting to connect all barrels in series; (4) faucet for filling buckets or hose connection; (5) connection of flexible pipe to downspout; and (6) screened opening in barrel.
