Directions: Enter values for cross section, ASTM designation (for Fy and Fu), connection type, and number of bolts and number of lines of bolts (for bolted connections).
Where the shear lag coefficient, U, is calculated, it is assumed that bolts in channels are through the web; for W sections, specify whether bolts are through web, flange, or both. In some cases, sufficient information is not available for the calculation of the shear lag coefficient; if so, enter an appropriate U-value between 0 and 1.
