Final project

Issued: Sept. 20, 2021

Due: Exam week (Sunday, Dec. 12, 2021, 2:00 pm)

There are two options for the final project:

Option 1 consists of a code analysis of an existing building, with mostly a graphic presentation of means of egress components, common path of travel, dead ends, analysis of stair components (handrails, guards, treads, minimum dimensions, and so on). The project format will consist of drawings (annotated plans primarily) and photographs of existing conditions. Issues of accessibility should also be noted (elevators or ramps, turning radii, door and hallways widths, protruding objects).

Option 2 consists of a compilation of all class notes (including in-class presentations), formatted more-or-less neatly and coherently.
